kank ........... pure pleasure or pure pain ??....

KANK … yaa ... kabhi alvida naa kehna…..
Thought of writing something... but, Barka Dutt was ahead of me...
Heres, my modest stuff anyways …

KANK - the agony of Shah Rukh, once a renowned player, now, just a coach, the best example of how to blame others for your misfortune and never look inside... Where the cause lies…
Who is so engrossed in seeing ill in others, that he even blames Rani for his accident….
Rani … who refuses to see how much her husband cares for her … and instead lives her life wallowing in self pity … because she can not have a child … She bonds with the utterly complexed and totally negative Shah Rukh.. And both attempt to feed the fire of their individual woes …. !!
Abhishekh…a rare treat… A guy, who believes that life is a party, is stuck with the wrong person … who can never see happiness around her... Because her heart is cold...
And Preity, who can do no right, because Shah Rukh believes that his judgment is ultimate and only he can give the “Final diagnosis” …
In between, Mr Bacchan, who is a true believer in “Each to his own”... Tries to ask each of these characters to be unbiased about the other...And in the end, when it doesn’t happen asks each to go his own way... The best advice given so far ….

KANK- The comic break -Things are going almost right when, Karan Johar stamps the film with his usual comedy scenes and his “One Classical confusion” … Per film …
Remember the scene, where the calls of the 2 Anjalis were interchanged... KKHT
And the secne where the guest comes home... from Kal ho Naa ho …
Karan uses the “Great Identity Crisis” to regale his audiences once more in KANK..
With a sequence where Rani and Shahrukh feel their spouses are housing boyfriends and girlfriends respectively in their bathrooms!!.... Making the film reek once again, with the need for acceptance by the “Great Indian Mass”…

The song – Where’s the party tonight – is amazing, and so is the fact that, both the lead singers are the same as “it’s the time to disco” - (KHNK)... Shan and Vasundhara again stretch their vocals for this one...But hey forgot to mention John’s immense contribution, as the “Echo master”… who, simply repeats the words that abhishekh sings... Funny...
And please, special thanks to Arjun Rampal who was simply irreplaceable... and to the leading lady Kajol... For wearing a Sari... Appearing in heels... And then vanishing... was it a Magic Show or what???... Yes indeed, “thank you Sam”

In other words, KANK teaches the audience … like a picture textbook does ….
Glossy, filmy, colourful- the lessons there, but the keen mind needs to dig it from under the candy floss…

Marketing ka Halwa

Har admi marketing ka halwa bana ke dusre ke halak mein dale ja raha hae … Bura haal hae… Marketing is certainly not what it wanted to be, today if you measure marketing on its own brand prism, it would indeed lie defeated on all counts. Every 1 person enterprise has a marketing budget these days, translated as money spent on consumer nuisance and harassment. As if it’s not boring enough to be serenaded by Irfan’s dull as ditch water middle aged act every few minutes on TV, courtesy Vodafone, we have to bear inane ads linking things like soap with Vishwas and Bharosa. What the hell has bharosa got to do with a standard consumer durable like soap?? Is the emotional pull even required?? I am quite happy if my soap smells good .. and thank god for that. Does a consumer really buy more if an Aggarbatti promises to invoke god? Or if a Galaxy tab can help sketch some man with a tap running on his head? Does it all really account to more sales or just more NOISE? Leave apart the insaneness of

an equal balance

im the new sms, im the unplucked rose, im the rush of adrenalin, im that drop of prose, im the bride of desire, im the unbridled fire, im the liberal oxygen, im the favourite season, im that love you never saw, far away when i raised the sos, the smoke which disappeared, leaving its burnt hut splinterless, im not the ship you ride in high tide, but im an equal balance if you believe in the divide.

jargon

Respect me for my knowledge and not for my age .... is that what most of us say.. all the time secretly wishing and hoping for admirers ..??... Life has made me this way ... do we always blame life and its many travestys to be the cause of our selfishness , our reserve and our ascerbity ???...... I dont give free advice .. is this the way we want our ego to be satiated and our words to be valued ..???? lets do it another day .. is this the way we ward of challenges and stick to our homegrounds ??? When we want our juniors to challenge us , to speak out , are we willing to listen to them ..??.. or change ???... or are these mere words meant to be repeated in every company meeting ..... Can i stop being CEO for a change ???....
